About Us
In 2017, after I graduated an out-of-state college, I began playing Pokemon in my home state of Connecticut. I quickly found that there were no stores in New Haven County running official Pokemon events. I had to drive at least a half hour to find an officially sanctioned Play! Pokemon store. I was very excited to play the game, so I became a Pokemon professor and began running what would be called "North Haven Pokemon Tournaments" out of my church's basement. I just wanted to teach the game. Little did I know, I would fall totally in love with running TCG events and fostering the communities around these games that we all love.
After running these events pop-up style on Saturday for several years, I began to build aspirations for a real brick-and-mortar store of my own where I could sell products, run tournaments, and continue to gros these wonderful communities. In January, 2020, I registered a DBA called "Unison Games" and began looking for commercial space. Little did I know, the whole world was about to go into lockdown due to Covid!
Later that year, after the lockdowns began to ease, my friend, David approached me about starter a brick-and-mortar store under the name Unison Games Cafe. He had previous entrepreneural experience with cafe's and thought it could be a cool combination. In March of 2021, we opened "Unison Games Cafe" in Hamden, CT. For five years, we grew the business into a 7-day operation, making hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales every year. By the end of our lease, my mind was on growth and expansion. David really liked the space that we had renovated there, but I thought it was time to move on, so we decided to split the business into two distinct locations in March of 2026.
That brings us to Unison Co. at 410 Universal Dr N, North Haven, CT. Unison Co. is a game store dedicated to bringing value to every gamer. My focus is running quality TCG events and cultivating the best single TCG card selection in the state. We support many different games, with a focus on Bandai games and Pokemon. It's a space dedicated to inclusivity and real community. All are welcome, and there's something for everybody. Come by, and check it out!
